25 January 2012 No Comment

Santa Ana, CA — The trial began in an Orange County courtroom on Wednesday in the case of a mother accused of murdering her newborn.  Juana Perez Valencia, 21, of Anaheim allegedly gave birth to a full-term baby girl in a restaurant bathroom, suffocated her, and dumped her into a trash bin.  She was a Western High School junior at the time and worked as a server at El Sombrero Restaurant.  The trash bin where the 6-pound, 5-ounce baby was found was located behind the restaurant located at Knott and Katella Avenues.  The incident occurred on Dec. 22, 2009.  The facts that Valencia had the baby and disposed of the baby are not being disputed.  The jury must decide if she killed the baby or the baby died on its own.  If convicted Valencia faces 25 years to life in prison.  If you have a family member who is in need of an Orange County Criminal Lawyer, you can find one at ORANGECOUNTYLAWYERS360.COM.
